Gradient from deep blue in dry condition to pink when moisture is absorbed.     

• for moisture absorption (electronics etc.; to keep medicines dry; to keep machines and military equipment dry);   
  
• in the production of gasoline with a high octane number;     
• as a catalyst in the production of synthetic rubber;     
• as part of an alcohol test (in blowpipes);     
• in filters of a cooling circuit to extract any moisture present.     
• to protect cameras against moisture and mildew (They are used to keep photographic equipment dry in humid conditions).     
• as a relative humidity buffer (RH buffer) for example in museum showcases and pianos     
• to dry flowers (under a bell jar or airtight box with a saucer of silica gel)
